I was the Creative Director of this show, so here’s an overview. The concept was a magical gathering in the underworld forest. A mystical party with just enough dark magic to feel dangerous, but always still positive and uplifting.

Interaction Montage

For this project, we had to design new ways to bring the audience into the show… sometimes literally dancing with the performer.

This was also our first show with our own UI system on mobile — allowing people a button interface to add input to the show with more than just chat messages.

Here are the interactive modes seen in the montage:

  • Performer Summon. The audience brings forth our hero through their chat messages.

  • Travel Vote. Attendees vie for one of three options that transforms the realm.

  • Waver Cam. The audience is brought directly into the show - live - on giant holographic screens, allowing them to interact and dance directly with the performer!

  • Hype. Audience members spam a HYPE button, driving up the meter to explosive pay-offs.

  • Chat Wall. Performer interacts with audience members through their messages.

  • Q&A. A lengthier, more focused conversation together live between the performer and audience after the music has ended. Some really fun and funny exchanges take place.
